HISTORY...
The group was founded in 1989 by composer-guitarist Brad Powell.
At age eleven, Brad won first-place at the Southwestern Youth Music Festival, for a guitar solo.
As a teenager, he was a protégé under Grammy award-winning jazz guitarist Joe Pass. Brad was featured at the Hollywood Bowl, performing Gerald Wilson's Sonata for Guitar and Orchestra, with the
composer conducting. Brad later composed music for several hit television shows (including Hill Street Blues and The 'A' Team, working with Mike Post).
The 1998 debut album Brad Powell Expedition: First Step In A Long Journey on Geofonica Records, has been featured on jazz radio stations across the country. (photos by Robin Babou)
